Just a general question regarding a new boiler that was fitted in an out building at work, this shed is used for tool storage with cloakroom facilities and where we, 'the gardeners' have tea etc...
The owners had a boiler fitted about 2 years ago (worcester bosch) which supplies 1 radiator in the shed, hot water in cloakroom, underfloor heating in their barn. The bolier is wall mounted and has a straight flue pipe to the outside, recently with all the snow etc, we have spent more time in the shed than usual, and one of the gardeners commented the other day on an unusual smell, after checking this out I realised that as the flue is below the roof, the fumes expelled get blown back under the roof, which is just a corrugated tin roof and not airtight ! My question is that when this boiler was installed should they have put a bend on the flue pipe outside to take the pipe up above the level of the roof ? Also whether there has been any risk with carbon monoxide to us using the shed ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I speak to the owners next week. Thanks, Paul.
