It is not wired up to the thermostat in the house for some reason, we have an underfloor hot water system (not working). It heats water up for the house with gas bottles.
Apparently the heating was "patchy" so the previous owners had a new boiler fitted by a spaniard and he doesn't seem to have finished the job off properly (or maybe he couldn't for some reason)?
I have solar power with an enormous round tank by Sonnenkraft, all in german! This also heats the water.
Should I forget the boiler (it may not have a pump connected, unless it's inside the unit) and use an electric boiler, the house is around 160 sq metres, if so can you suggest a size, I understand that a solar system can be used with an electric boiler.
The plumber in Spain (english) wants me to rip the boiler out and use a heat pump, not sure I want to do this yet.
Would a pump connected to the original boiler do the job, and would I also need an expansion tank?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's cost a lot of money so far and I really don't want to do the wrong thing. Thank you.
