cleaning system

Postby chrisa on Wed Jul 29, 2009 4:42 pm

Im looking to flush the 7 radiator combi c/h in my house and then add an inhibitor.
running off the same boiler supply is an underfloor heating system at the top of the house with its own electric pump.
When I add the fernox cleaner should i run the underfloor heating or not or should i just leave it off, are there any things i should consider? Ive been told it runs at a different pressure and with plastic pipes there's unlikely to be any rubbish in this part of the heating system. :?:
any advice appreciated

There probably will be sludge in the underfloor system as its heat is generated by the heat exchanger just like any other part of the system.

Personally I would isolate the manifold supplying the underfloor system and powerflush separately. Worth noting is that every square meter of underfloor heating has 1 litre of water in it and therefore when cleaning I would use something like two tubs of F5 Powerflush from Fernox or the equuivalent Sentinel product (I prefer Fernox however).
